Rob, thought I'd share a story. Today I had a 16year old boy waiting for a spinal tap. He was a nervous wreck. I went in and asked him to paint a pig. He wasn't sure at first if I was kidding or not. I gave him the pig and paint and told him just to do his best. He was concentrating so hard on the pig he forgot about the procedure. The nurses went in and started sedating him and he worked on the pig. His eyes were closing and he struggled to see but he kept painting the pig. The doctor came in to start the tap and he told the doctor you have to wait until my pig is finished! And so he waited! He finally finished the pig 5 or 10 minutes later and announced that he was ready. The procedure went smoothly and went he awoke he presented me with his finished pig with a big smile on his face. I said I was going to put his name on a paper and put it inside the pig, he told me not to bother he put it on the pig. So you will be receiving a pig with Luis across it's butt!
All the clinic staff went in and out of his room to watch him with the pig, so it brought us all a little joy today...thanks for that. Talk to you soon, Peg
